I fell in love with New Orleans pre-Katrina on my first visit there.I remember traveling there to see some friends and not wanting to leave.I remember strolling through the french quarter and eating heavily spiced food at 3am.I remember walking in the city at night and the streets were crowded with both tourists and the locals.New York is called the city that never sleeps but that title really belongs to New Orleans.I fell in love with New Orleans on that trip.I haven’t been back there since Katrina but I always reserve a special place in my heart for that city…it’ll always be the “one that got away” to me.
