Paul Rudd is Ant-Man.
Can’t picture that? Neither did I right up until the moment I sat down in the cinema for the screening.
As a huge Marvel fan and Rudd fan, I just didn’t think he was the right man for the job.
I was wrong.
He is the right man for the job.
His comedic timing is on point (no surprise there).
His acting is on point (no surprise there).
He makes Ant-Man, Ant-Man.
And then there is Michael Douglas who coupled with Evangeline Lilly is something you’re not going to want to miss.
But what really sealed this for me as a whole was the way Paul Rudd and Michael Peña played off each other.
If you’re looking for a reason to go see this movie, that right there should be your reason.
Forget the fact that it’s so awesomely entertaining and full of laughs in pretty much every other scene.
Forget the fact that Rudd actually pulls off the whole shrinking super hero thing and focus on the chemistry between Scott Lang and his buddy Luis. That to me is where the true magic in this movie lies.
Oh and just a heads up, you may want to brush up on your Avengers knowledge otherwise all the Avengers and Hydra references will fly right over your head and that would be a shame.
Bottom line? Go see Ant-Man.
