Every once in a while I stumble across a random blog on the internet that cracks me up so much I simply have to share with you guys. Today I discovered a little gem called Mosy Bites. To say that I was impressed with the blog would be the understatement of the year. The jokes and opinions are free (hey, we love free around here) and will have you laughing your pants off. I like that the author is witty and opinionated and I have bookmarked it for days when I just need a really good laugh to drive the blues away!

I finally found a house that healed me.

My birthday is literally around the corner *cough* September 13th *cough* and I will be turning 31.
I have had the privilege of being infatuated with, being in lust with and even deeply caring about men but I have never been IN love.
There have been a couple of times when I tried to convince myself I loved certain people but the truth is I have never been IN love – not the way you see it in movies or the way you see those couples that get lost in each other’s eyes and know without a doubt they have found “the one”.
I always thought I would never experience it because the wall around my heart was up way too high:
I have seen more heartbreaks and dysfunctional relationships than I care to count.
And having a divorce on my track record didn’t make matters any easier.
But the other day while chilling out at my house it dawned on me that for the first time in my life,I’m ready for love,like real love.
I’m ready to let someone in.
It didn’t happen overnight,it’s been 4 years in the making – constantly working on myself.
There are plenty of things I still need to work on but for the most part, the guard is down.
And it’s all thanks to the house in this post.
See,I’ve watched that house go from abandoned to damn near perfect.
A few weeks back a crew pulled up into the drive way and slaved away for long hours restoring it from front to back and right now it is one of the best houses in the neighborhood.
Everytime I walk past it,a warm feeling engulfs my body – its the perfect place to raise a family.
The yard is large enough for kids to play in
The house is big enough to host parties and there is even a basement for that man cave your guy might need.
After my divorce was finalised,I thought to myself that I would never have the traditional family again and would never meet someone again.
That falling in love was never in the cards for me and as family oriented as I am,maybe my destiny was to just be a single mother.
I basically just closed myself up.
This house, for some odd reason, made me realise that I can fall in love.
That its okay to fall in love.
To risk it all.
To let someone in.
To create a life with someone.
To create memories with someone.
To let a man into my world.
To let another man into my little dude’s world.
To hope.
To have faith in that which I cannot see.
To allow myself to dream about the possibility.
This house helped me realise that I am ready to move on.
I am ready for love.

31 is knocking *cough* September 13 *cough* and all I honestly want for my birthday is a pinata and a whole new wardrobe.
I mean if someone generous wants to fly me to Las Vegas or Miami or both and spoil me,I won’t say no.
And if someone hands me a wad of cash for my big day,I certainly won’t turn it down.
But strangely what I truly want is a pinata filled with really good candy for me to hit really hard and a brand new wardrobe.
My current wardrobe is so outdated its not even funny.
And it’s filled with Tee-shirts,lots of shapeless tee-shirts and capri pants.
If people were arrested for outdated wardrobes,I would be doing 25 to life.
Seriously.
I’d be perfect for those fashion makeover shows.
I would however, gladly settle for a whole new wardrobe worth $1,500 from Dillards and Jessica Simpson instead of making a total ass of myself on national TV for you all to judge me and laugh at my outdated style.

I have days when I’m very sure of who I am and what I want to do with my life.
Then I have days – and sometimes weeks and even months,like today where I genuinely question my purpose in life, where I’m going, where I’m supposed to be career-wise, family-wise, relationship-wise and all that jazz.
I suppose if I could afford a shrink, she’d look at me over her cool stylish glasses and say this is normal.
Or I need a triple dose of Xanax.
My only consolation is a line from “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)” by Baz Luhrmann that says:
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…
..the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
I’m somewhere between 22 and 40 so that line for some reason brings me a lot of comfort everytime I start to feel anxious and uncertain about life in general.
Even on days like these though, there is one thing I know for sure – at some point in my life I will visit Miami.
I have ALWAYS dreamed of visiting Miami.
It’s been on my bucket list for ages which is why I got as giddy as a middle school student anticipating her very first kiss when I found out Ryan Seacrest is flying one person and a friend out to Miami to see Taylor Swift in concert on November 13.Thats right…imagine you and a friend soaking up the sun with sand under your toes on the Miami beach during the day and rocking out to T-Swift at night.Now stop imagining and enter the On Air with Ryan Seacrest – Taylor Swift Miami Flyaway Sweepstakes.
